These photos and stories come from my personal collection. I have acquired these from my family, friends, and Cambridge residents past and present.
In many instances I lapse into the first person since I am referring to my family’s history or my village’s history as related by my parents, Kenneth A Gottry and Charlotte Hitchcock Gottry.
My aim is always to be as historical accurate as possible, but I freely admit that I’m a raconteur not an historian. I love the stories and the folklore that bring Cambridge’s history alive to me.
Space prevents me for clearly noting where I believe facts end and folklore begins in the text accompanying the photos. But that’s OK. That’s part of the charm of Cambridge
All material in the publication is in the public domain. I don’t own Cambridge’s history. I am merely another in a long line of people who collect, organize, and share the photos, documents, and stories of my home town. |
